This fund was established originally in Jake’s memory.

Tragically, Jake’s dad (Jim) passed away unexpectedly on August 28, 2023, a few months after losing Jake. Jim was deeply passionate about this fund and its purpose. Honoring these two lives, you are invited to join family and friends in supporting this meaningful purpose.

In Memory of Jake Carritte

Jake Carritte was enrolled as a student at Loma Linda University School of Allied Health Professions in the Health Informatics program. He was enthusiastically anticipating his future career when his life was tragically cut short.

Jake was deeply loved by his family and friends. He enjoyed playing guitar, bass, and drums, composing and producing music, and was passionate about snowboarding, surfing, skateboarding and soccer. Sadly, Jake also faced challenges and struggled with substance use disorder until his passing.

In Jake’s memory, the family is establishing a program to provide research, education and support for individuals and families experiencing substance use challenges.
